Fault Diagnosis and Monitoring in SoA
Identifying occurrences of failure in such SOA is a crucial task. The aim of our research is to develop methods of creating Diagnosing Service which allow identifying (at run-time) if a failure has happened or may have happened. In [1, 2, 4] we presented a model driven approach to using Discrete Event System (DES) for automated generation of Diagnoser services and their integration to exiting architectures. In [3] we extended a modelling language suggested Vanhatalo, H. Voelzer, and Leymann to develop a theory of Diagnosability for SoA. [6] deals with addressing some of the challenges of deployment of a Diagnosing service. I collaborate with Mohammed Alodib and researchers from BT Research Laboratories, among them, Basim Majeed and Xiaofeng Du. One of the outcomes of our research is an Oracle JDeveloper plugin that implements our method.
I am also interested in Diagnosability theory of DES, which I study in collaboration with Rene Boel's team [3].
