Veljko Pejovic

Your Title

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the HCI Centre, School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham, UK, where I'm working with Dr. Mirco Musolesi on mobile social sensing.

I obtained my PhD from the Computer Science Department,University of California Santa Barbara in August 2012. Before that I got a BS degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Belgrade, School of Electrical Engineering.

In the last few years I have also spent some time at Meraka Institute, South Africa, The University of Cambridge, UK, The University of Edinburgh, UK and University College Cork, Ireland.

May 2013: We won the Data for Development Challenge (best overall prize) with our submission Exploiting Cellular Data for Disease Containment and Information Campaigns Strategies in Country-Wide Epidemics. Press: The Wall Street Journal, Mobile World Live

April 2013: Our paper Smartphones for Large-scale Behavior Change Interventions has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Pervasive Computing magazine.

March 2013: Our paper Exploiting Cellular Data for Disease Containment and Information Campaigns Strategies in Country-Wide Epidemics has been accepted at Netmob 2013 as a part of the Data for Development Challenge.
