Directions to the School
Please use the University Directions to guide you to the university campus by different methods of transport. The directions below will guide you to the School of Computer Science, once you are on the campus.
Computer Science is located on the Edgbaston Campus and is marked as building Y9 on the University Campus map (Yellow Zone, adjacent to "University" railway station).
By car
With a parking permit: If you have a parking permit or a visitor's parking permit (day scratch card), please enter through the East gate (the day scratch cards are provided by the school to all our invited visitors). After passing through the security, please take an immediate left on to the southern ring road. As the road goes downhill and curves round to the right, you will find the car park on your left. Park in there, and then retrace your steps to the main road. Take a left and follow the road adjacent to the sports fields. Go right at the first junction and then an immediate left onto the inner ring road. Continue along this road until you come to an area with shops and banks on your right. At this junction turn left and walk up the hill. You should see two identical redbrick and glass buildings. The School of Computer Science is the left of the two buildings.
Alternatively, you are welcome to park at any free parking space you might find on the campus. Please remember to display the permit in the front window of your car to avoid fines.
Without a parking permit: Please park in any of the following Pay and Display car parks.
- The levels of South car park accessed from Edgbaston Park Road
- North car park (Pritchatt's road)
- Pritchatt's Road car park (at the junction with Vincent Drive)
- Vincent Drive car park (adjacent to the University station)
Note: Disabled parking is located near the building on the road adjancent to the pedestrian area.
On Foot
From the train station, turn left out of the exit and you should see two identical redbrick and glass buildings in front of you. The School of Computer Science is the right of the two buildings.
From the East Gate, proceed straight towards the clock tower. Keep the clock tower on your left and continue straight towards Staff House. Take the path that goes under the buidling and continue to the ring road. Cross this road and walk up the hill. You should see two identical redbrick and glass buildings. The School of Computer Science is the left of the two buildings.
From the South Gate entrance on Bristol Road follow the lower path beside the playing fields, take the first set of steps up, turn left, and continue to follow the path round for about 20 meters. Take a left and follow the road adjacent to the sports fields. Go right at the first junction and then an immediate left onto the ring road. Continue along this road until you come to an area with shops and banks on your right. At this junction turn left and walk up the hill. You should see two identical redbrick and glass buildings. The School of Computer Science is the left of the two buildings.
