Looking back

During my time at university I gained a number of skills, both technical and non-technical, that enabled me to get a job in the area I wanted. My understanding of relational databases and SQL have proved most beneficial, however I have found that a broad understanding of a wide variety of computing concepts is vital in an environment where its impossible to know what issues might arise from your next task.

Life at PricewaterhouseCoopers

I applied to PricewaterhouseCoopers in November whilst studying for my MSc and was offered a job shortly after Christmas. Working for a large multinational firm has its benefits. My work is varied and you get a lot of support both professionally and personally. Forensic Technology Solutions work with cases ranging from bribery and fraud investigation, to software asset management…so life is never dull! During my first 2 months at PWC I travelled to Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, Prague and Brno, and there is currently a lot of scope to progress in forensics as it is a rapidly expanding area.

Good times

I thoroughly enjoyed my four years studying Computer Science at Birmingham. I made many friends during my time as a student, the majority of which I remain in touch with today.
