University research, both basic and applied, can be a catalyst to scientific and technological advances. By sponsoring joint research, you not only tap into the knowledge of our School's academic staff and students but you can also harness the efficiency and cost effectiveness of getting research done in a university. Such collaborations provide us with a mechanism for closer interaction with the problems of interest to industryand provide you with an alternative prospective on problems. If you would like to investigate such a research collaboration in more detail, please contact the staff member whose research area most closely matches your requirements. Most of the research in the School is concentrated into themes.

Once a mutual interest is established, there are many ways we can form partnerships.

  • Collaborative research - A research grant can be created either alone or in collaboration with a funding council such as the EPSRC.

  • Sponsored research - You can choose to fund a research project undertaken by our staff members. Sponsorships can fund a postgraduate studentship.

  • Contract research - You can commission us to undertake a specific research project or strategic research in your area of interest.

  • Sponsorships - You can sponsor postgraduate studentships, postdoctoral fellowships and honorary posts.

We also encourage you to share ideas with our staff and students by way of seminars and other presentations.
