Welcome

Information & the Web is a practical introduction to programming for the web. During the course of the term, you will be studying a range of issues and technologies that are important for the web, including:

• using mark-up languages to represent structured data (XML);
• tools for presenting information on the web (HTML, XHTML);
• keeping information and presentation separate (CSS);
• web programming (JavaScript, AJAX);

You will also gain experience in working as a team and presenting your work to others.
