Outline
This module supports students in studying current research within the HCI discipline. Several themes will be led by the different academic staff involved. Students will be given an initial set of key papers and guided in their research and analysis of the area selected. Each student will deliver a report on their analysis of the current state of the art in their area and also be expected to highlight open research questions. They will also present this work orally to the group.
Aims
The aims of this module are to:
- Provide students with the opportunity to study an area of HCI research in depth and to develop a critical analysis of the current state of the art in this area
- Train students in research methodologies and presentation skills

06-25020 (Advanced Human Computer Interaction) or equivalent.
Teaching
Teaching Methods:
Up to 3 contact hours/week to a maximum of 15 hours over the course of the term consisting of initial lectures, tutorials, group discussions, class presentations. Directed reading.

- Sessional: continuous assessment(100%)
- Supplementary (where allowed): continuous assessment (100%) undertaken over the summer
