    Tidy the header in the current mail message

Use of these facilities requires

    uses vedmail
    (E.g. in your $poplib/vedinit.p file)

These are autoloadable library programs.

These commands cause VED to get rid of all lines in message headers that
start with one of the strings in the list -unwanted_mail_headers-, and
simplifies local host addresses using the specifications in the list
-transform_mail_addresses-.

The commands are controlled by two global variables.

This is a list of strings defining entries to be deleted from the mail
header.

E.g. If the list contains the string 'Message-Id' then all lines in the
message header starting with 'Message-Id: ' will be deleted.

The default value is defined thus (though it may change):

This list contains strings specifying what addresses are to be transformed,
and what they are transformed to, in the format used by VED's ENTER s
comand. The delimiter is usually `/` but can be any character that does
not occur in the addresses.

E.g. if the list transform_mail_addresses includes the string

    '/@uk.ac.bham.cs//'

Then all local addresses of the form '@uk.ac.bham.cs' will be removed.
So
    'fred@uk.ac.bham.cs' will be transformed to just 'fred'.

It may be necessary to cope with alternate forms of addresses, since
they can come with or without abbreviations (e.g. 'susx' for 'sussex').

The default value is defined thus:

transform_mail_addresses =
