Sabbatical

I will be on sabbatical and away from the University of Birmingham from 1st September 2009 to 1st September 2010.


Research

My research interests are on various aspects of scientific document analysis, optical character and mathematical formula recognition, mathematical knowledge management, implementation technologies for web applications, theory and implementation of databases and file index structures.

Project Supervision

I now maintain my list of final year and MSc project proposals in XML:

Please note that as I will be away for the academic year 2009/2010, I will not be taking on any project students in this period. I WILL be taking on MScISS project students in Summer 2009.

If you are interested, here is the XML file with its associated DTD file , which specifies the structure of the XML file, and the XSLT file used to do the translations from XML to HTML.
