Enjoyable visit to colleagues at University of Liverpool where I gave a seminar on application of virtual machine interospection to detect malicious behaviour.
A beta version of AC2Alloy is ready! The tool is designed for the analysis of Spatio Temporal Access Control (access control which takes into consideration location and time). We are expecting to release it at the end of May 13. If you have a burning desire to try it as it is, email me :-).
The students of Enterprise System module have done a wonderful job with the projects. One of teams built a Cloud from scratch (open nebula) and the second team produced a mechanism for controlling energy consumption.
Started a new term. Teaching Hibernate, Spring, Spring Security and programming in Cloud.
Welcome to my new PhD student John Saxon.
My sabbatical leave ended today. I enjoyed six months of research at Cloud & Security group at HP Research Lab., Bristol, UK
Delivered a keynote speech for International Workshop on Informatics (IWIN12), Chamonix, France
Delivered a keynote speech for 23rd Workshop on the Principles of Diagnosis, Malvern, UK.
Our work on Forensic Virtual Machine is accepted for publication. We introduce a method of using Virtual Machine Introspection to detect malicious behaviour (collaboration with HP research lab, Bristol).
A nice poster based on our research. Thanks to Phil Weber.
This term started teaching a new module called Enterprise Systems on topics such as Hibernate, Spring, Spring security and Programming of Cloud. Today we had a half-a-day workshop run by students, where they talked about their experience of programming and development on Cloud (amazon and google). Lots of fun and feel greatly rewarded.
We have our own tiny private Cloud for experimentation, seems to be working like magic... thanks OpenNebula :-)
My sabbatical is approved. I will be on sabbatical in term two of 2012
Merry Christmas :-)
