Advanced Analysis of Building Energy Performance

There's lots of potential for Computational Intelligence applications in the analysis of metered building energy data becuase they can be robust and flexible. There lots of potential applications from modelling of building/device performance to attempting to directly influence user behaviour through interation. I'm keen to develop systems that can have a positive impact on energy consumption whilst remaining largely automated, require minimal training, system setup or manual data entry.

Computational models of embryogeny

My PhD thesis investigated models of growth processes and interaction with simulated evolutionary processes. I'm particularly interested in the innate characteristics of structures that are grown, such as robustness and scalability. I also have an interest in the impact of evolution and growth processes on the characteristics of neural networks for both cognitive models and real world applications. I completed my PhD in 2006 under the supervision of Dr. John Bullinaria .
