Random stuff about Dan Razvan Ghica

Since 2005 I have been a lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, UK. I am interested in semantics and logics of programming languages, especially as it relates to game theory. It sounds recondite because it is. Before, I worked at the Oxford University Computing Laboratory (2002-2005). Before my PhD I worked for the IBM Toronto Lab (1997-1999).

I am a graduate of Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada (MSc'97, PhD'02) and Memorial University (BSc'95) in St. John's, Nfld, Canada, where I studied computer science. Before that I studied at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania (1990-1993), which despite the name is not at all a UK-style poly. My high school was the Tudor Vianu college (aka "Informatica"), also in Bucharest.

I am married to Georgi, we have a daughter, Emer, and we live in Selly Oak, Birmingham. Excellent!

Whatever i'm doing right now, likely I'd rather be skiing or playing football instead. My favourite football team to play with was Mel's Angels, in Canada. In England I played for several seasons with the relegation-threatened Mannfield Road FC in Oxford. In Birmingham I have yet to join a club. Maybe I retired and I don't know it yet.

Back in the day I used to enjoy translating poetry and I even had a short-lived log. For the benefity of family and friends I have an online album, but most of the pics are with Emer.
