Mohamed Alkalai - Personal
The first close touch that I had to a computer was in 1996 when I attended certain courses that concern with Microsoft Office Applications. Since then, I’ve always been deeply interested in computing (Computer science) and therefore I started taking several courses concerns with computer science, most of them were programming languages (C, Visual Basic 6.0…etc) and the rest were about how to fix and maintain computers and an introduction to Network. In late 1997, I had joined to Science Faculty - Garyounis University and spent four years and a half in studying computer science. Before, I was awarded a computer science graduation certificate in 2002.
As many graduate students, I was confused about what the next step should be?. Fortunately, I decided to continue my study abroad. So I went to Malaysia in the mid of 2002 where I got my master degree in computer science. My father was my sponsor. University Science Malaysia names the university that I studied at. I had been there till the mid of 2004 before I went back to my country (Libya).
Since the late of 2004, I had been working as a lecturer for several institutes(All are located in Libya) include Africa Institute, Almehn Alshamla Institute, and Garyouni University..etc. In the academic year of 2005/2006, I was appointed as lecturer at Garyounis University. From 2006, I became the Head of Software Engineering Department at IT faculty-Garyounis University. Currently, I am doing my Ph.D at the University of Birmingham, Birmingham,UK.
