The creation of programs that write poetry automatically has been a recurring dream within the Artificial Intelligence (AI) community, even if it has generally been assigned a very low priority compared to other Natural Language applications. This web page presents an overview of what is being done in this field, paying special attention to the role that the computer plays in the creative process.
The way in which I approached this research in Computer Generated Poetry is based on a differentiation between the function of the computer as a medium to generate poetry and visual arts, and its role as an originator of art by itself. A more detailed explanation of these distinctive roles can be found by clicking on the Research link below.
Clicking on A.D.A.M will lead you onto another page where you can have a taste of A.D.A.M., my first experience... in Computer Poetry Generation, whereas a click on Visual Poetry will show you my attempts in this area.
Alternatively, in the References link you can find some interesting websites with relevant information on analogous fields such as evolutionary art, storytelling, etc.
