Coursework
Coursework Information
There are two types of information accessible from this page. The first relates to the actual syllabus, course structure and exercises that you have to do, whilst the second type provides information on certain aspects of the tasks that you have to perform. The first type of information can be viewed as predominantley administration-related, whilst the second is coursework related.
Administration
Assessment
The course is assessed on the basis of the work that you do throughout the term - there is no final exam. The overall goal of the course is to take you through the stages of designing the interaction and interface to some system, so that you end up with a final working product.
There are three assessment points at which a formal grading of your work will occur.
- The first will assess your elicitation of information, incorporating user questionnaires and task analysis, and the initial requirements specification that you will produce from this information. Due end of week 4.
- The second will assess the initial design of the interface, incorporating icon design. Due end of week 7.
- The third will assess the final interface and the evaluation of the prototype and conclusions drawn from that. Due end of week 10.
At each stage, the demonstrators will give you feedback and comments on how you are doing, where the weaknesses lie in your work, and so on. Remember that it is the process, as much as the final end product, that is being assessed.
