The Luddites are gathering
Two devices have caught my attention this week - a key ring that turns off TVs, and a personal mobile phone blocker.
This is a real sign that technology has started to pervade our lives so heavily that we are actively looking for ways to repel its influence. how long before we see the 'PC jammer' or an 'email blocker'?

Well I've only ever really seen gadgets like these being sold in shops like "the gadget shop" and "discovery" for pranking purposes, but I suppose your concern is still valid.
I must say though that these rely on something being transmitted using electromagnetic waves (mobile phones using microwaves and TV remotes using infrared) so I seriously doubt you'd get PC/email blockers. Still the mobile phone jammer does seem to be a step too far, in my opinion...

a valid point, but of course I was only trying to be provocative :)
apparently the electromagnetic radiation from a nuclear device is enough to wipe out most electronic gizmos, including PCs, but I'd be seriously worried if they started selling those in keyring form.
and recently, I've found that the university's filtering systems act as a fully functioning email blocker...
