Search and Social Networking
The concept behind this is that you have a network of people who are good at stuff and known to you - but you may not know who to contact about what. This approach combines the social networknig approach with search results to make them more prominent.

I'm not convinced. Not only do I think there is a flawed business model here, I also think that there is a flawed model of what users want when they search. But then, the great thing about internet businesses is, we can simply wait and see to know whether this is a good idea, or not.

hiya,

Have to make sure i spell everything correctly in this, after the lecture today, where you quite amusingly commented on spelling and punction of others, i have found an error in your spelling lol.

the phrase:

"his approach combines the social networknig"

if you notice, has the word networking spelt incorrectly.
Sorry, i found it quite amusing.

Actually this is a typo, since it is very unlikely anyone would incorrectly spell networking as networknig. 'Netwerking' or 'Netwurking' would be spelling mistakes. The difference is where the error occured. In the case of the typo the word has just been inputted inaccurately, the error happened during transfering the information to the computer via the keyboard. A spelling mistake originates from the original formulation of the word in the brain and there is no error in the keyboard input.

fair enough, i was only having a bit of fun

Actually, I liked the exchange :-)

An aware take-up of something I'd talked about, applied to something I'd written - and then a very astute, insightful response from someone making some interesting, correct and clear distinctions.

Humour, and comment, are often very useful indeed.
