Submission Information and Selection

We are soliciting two types of workshop papers:

(i) Regular: Six pages maximum contribution in the ICSE double-column format. Papers will be asked to present novel contributions, critiques of existing work, industrial studies, as well as negative results and pitfalls.

(ii) Half-baked thoughts: papers describing novel positions and visions in two to four pages maximum in the ICSE double-column format: ICSE SAM accepts short position statements/extended abstracts on original, radical, and/or half-baked thoughts related to the workshop topics. Future participants are encouraged to submit extended abstracts under this category for fostering lively discussions during the workshop. Abstracts will be published to the ICSE SAM Proceedings and should be submitted by the deadline.

All papers will be reviewed by three program committee members and be selected depending on their originality, quality and relevance to the workshop. Each accepted paper will have to be presented in person by (one of) the author(s). To foster lively and productive discussions, each author will be encouraged to present open questions to the forum and one or two main statements for discussion at the workshop brainstorming session.

Workshop Proceedings & Journal Issue

Accepted papers will be published in the ICSE companion workshop proceedings, will be distributed to the participants before the workshop and will also be made available through the workshop website. Like ICSE Papers, workshop paper proceedings will be published in the ACM and IEEE Digital Libraries. ICSE Conference and Workshop attendees will receive a memory stick with the ICSE Proceedings and Companion Workshop volumes on it.

The first Workshop on Software Architectures and Mobility has a special issue with the Journal of Systems and Software (in progress). We also aim to arrange for a special thematic journal issue, featuring the best papers presented in the workshop for this year.
