Undergraduate Offer-holder Visit Days and Assessment Days

Published: Wed 25th September 2019

We're gearing up for our next recruitment cycle, and applications are starting to come in for 2020 entry. If your application is considered academically suitable, you'll be made an offer and invited to attend one of our Offer-holder Visit Days.

They are a brilliant chance to come along and discover what life is like as a student studying computer science at Birmingham. Different to an Open Day, you'll spend time with our staff and students, hear about what it's like to study here, discover our campus and all the great facilities we can offer you, and get a feel for life at Birmingham.

An invitation to choose from a range of visit days will be emailed to you shortly after your offer is made. All our events take place on Saturdays, making it easier for you to come and see us, and to bring any guests along too.

If you are applying for one of our BSc Computer Science with Digital Technology Partnerships with either PwC or Vodafone, your application will be considered for academic suitability, then your contact details will be passed to each company. The company will then start their assessment process with you. Following successful completion of their online assessment activities, you'll be invited to attend an Assessment Day at company offices, and an Offer-holder Visit Day back at Birmingham.

Computing at Schools Conference 2018

Published: Sat 9th February 2019

The School of Computer Science once again played host to the 10th Computing at Schools annual Conference in June 2018. Following on from previous successful conferences, we welcomed over 250 teachers (from both primary and secondary level) who were looking to update both their subject knowledge and approach to teaching computing in their schools.

The conference was full of keynote talks, workshops and networking opportunities, and brought the CAS community together once again.

Plans are currently underway for 2019!
