Outline

Data Science is a rapidly advancing field of study. This module will consist of a series of seminar-style short courses that will cover recent advances in the subject. Each topic will be introduced by a staff member and students will then develop their knowledge via directed reading and present their findings to the class. Each topic will be accompanied by weekly quizzes that will test students’ understanding.


Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of recent advances in data science
  • Make effective oral and written presentations
  • Engage effectively in discussions about recent research in data science
