Hi. I'm Shan He.

I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Computational Biology in the School of Computer Science, the University of Birmingham.

I am currently leading a research group called NAD (complex Network Architecture and Dynamics), developing algorithms for inferring, analysing and controlling complex networks. To learn more about our research, please go to our group web page:

Short Bio

I obtained my PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the University of Liverpool in  2007.

I worked as a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow and the Wellcome Trust VIP fellow, all in the School of Computer Science, the University of Birmingham.

My research interests include complex network analysis, machine learning, optimisation,
agent-based modelling and their applications to biological and clinical problems.
I am an Associate Editor of  IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience and Complex & Intelligent Systems (Springer).

Teaching

I taught Neural Computation and Advanced Aspects of Nature Inspired Optimisation and Search in Autumn 2016

I am happy to supervise student projects in the multidisciplinary areas of artificial intelligence and computational biology.
